Portrait of Alison Fargis

Alison Fargis

Alison Fargis is a partner in Stonesong. With more than 25 years in publishing, Alison has cultivated a wide-ranging list of commercially successful and critically acclaimed writers, from New York Times bestselling cookbook authors to award-winning novelists and children’s authors. She represents literary and commercial fiction, narrative and prescriptive nonfiction, business, pop culture and a handful of middle grade and young adult titles. Prior to joining Stonesong in 1995, she taught English to President Václav Havel’s staff at the Prague Castle and taught high school English in Příbram, Czech Republic. Alison was the recipient of a Dana Foundation Grant and a Foundation for a Civil Society (Soros Foundation) Fellowship. She graduated Vassar College with a B.A. in Art.

Alison is looking for upmarket women’s fiction, book club fiction, and middle grade fiction that blurs the line between literary and commercial. Please no romance, high fantasy, true crime, poetry, or children’s picture books.
