Security Notice: Impersonation Scam
It has come to our attention that an individual or individuals are impersonating members of the Stonesong team in unsolicited online outreach. They are using an email address that closely resembles — but is not — a legitimate Stonesong address, in what appears to be a phishing or scam attempt targeting candidates and clients. We want to be unequivocal: we find this conduct reprehensible, and we are taking it seriously. We are actively investigating and working with the appropriate authorities.
How to verify authentic communication from Stonesong
All legitimate email from our team comes from addresses ending in @stonesong.com — and only that domain. Be skeptical of lookalike variations (extra letters, hyphens, numbers, or alternate domains such as .co, .net, .org, or free email providers like gmail.com or outlook.com).
Stonesong will never:
• Ask you to pay a fee, buy gift cards, or send money as part of a recruiting or engagement process
• Request sensitive personal information (Social Security numbers, bank details, copies of identification) over email or messaging apps before a formal, verified process is underway
• Conduct interviews exclusively by text message, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, or similar platforms
• Send job offers or contracts without a prior phone or video conversation with a verified member of our team
If you’ve been contacted by someone claiming to represent Stonesong and you’re unsure:
Do not reply, click any links, or share any information. Forward the message — including full email headers if possible — to report@stonesong.com and we will confirm whether the outreach is legitimate. You can also verify any team member’s identity by contacting our main office directly through the information on this website. If you believe you may have shared personal or financial information with a scammer, we encourage you to report the incident to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at ic3.gov and to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov We’re grateful to the community members who have flagged this activity to us, and we apologize for the concern it has caused. Protecting the trust of the people who work with us is a responsibility we take to heart.
